As any emerging cutting-edge technology Molecular Systems Engineering raises a number of ethical questions and challenges which must be addressed in due time. Recently we invited a panel of high-ranked experts to Basel to discuss current and future issues of ethical concern in the field of Synthetic Biology.

Twice a year leading members of the National Center of Competence in Research Molecular Systems Engineering (NCCR MSE) discuss (non-) scientific issues with opinion leaders, public figures and personalities from the arts, sports, the private sector and politics.
